in The Urban Area
Title
“Homelessness,
Their Sights and Us”
Background Research
Homelessness
is a problem regarding the condition and social category which involve people without
a regular house because they cannot afford. Street people are the segment of
the homeless who spend substantial periods of time on the streets in urban
areas. As we can see in the city, the public place such as bus stand, LRT
station, pavement and many more places have been labeled as the homelessness
area.
There
are many causes regarding this problem :-
- Unavailability of employment opportunities
- Poverty
- Lack of affordable healthcare
- Mental disorder
- Disability
- Substance abuse
- Lack of affordable housing
Most
of them involved in the poverty problem. They cannot afford to buy a shelter
for them as the living cost in the city is very high and they also have to rise
sympathize from the people to have some money to eat. If they are lucky, they
can get money and eat, but if they are unlucky, they cannot eat at all for the
whole day.
Problem Identification
Most
of the problem regarding the homelessness problem :-
i) Cannot afford to buy a shelter to live
ii) Need sympathize from the people to survive
iii)
The high living cost in the city makes them homelessness
Aim and Objective
i) To find the solution/ to help the homelessness
person in the city to have a better place to live
and eat
ii) To solve the rising of living cost in the
city
iii)
To make all the people realize how lucky they are, having a house to live
Motivation
People
in the city always see that the people, who have no shelter (homelessness),
sleep beside the road, no food and proper clothes, they saw these people like rubbish
and they don’t even bother these types of people. Can we imagine, if we are at
their place, what will happen to us? Can we survive living like them,
homelessness?
Ideation and Concept
My
concept is to capture the reality life of the homelessness person. What they
see and what people see them. I want to express them in the form of digital art.
I want the other people can feel the life of a homelessness person and try to
be one of them. Creating environment for example the bust stand environment,
the pavement environment and many more.
