Water
Pollution in Urban Area
Title
“Water,
One of The Important Needs in Life”
Background Research
Malaysia, one of the countries in the world
whom has the problem in the urban area in terms of water pollution. Most of
this problem happened due to the excessive waste from the factory has been
poured out into the river. For example, the paper making industry, it requires
poisonous chemical substances in the processing stage. The excessive waste of
the chemicals have been poured into the river, so, most of the river in
Malaysia have been polluted with these dangerous chemical.
There are many ethnic aboriginal groups that
still exist in Malaysia. These people still depend on the river to survive; for
food, water supply for drinking, bathing and for their crops.
Next, in terms of tourism, most of the trees
in the urban area has been cut for tourism purposes and lodging. The root of
the tree cannot hold the soil as the number of the trees is decrease and this
may lead into the land slide phenomena. The impact from the land slide is the
soil flow into the river and may lead the flash flood to occur.
Problem Identification
Most
of the problem regarding the water pollution :-
i) Chemical substances from the factory in
urban area
ii) The human’s attitude – simply throw the
rubbish in the sewage system
iii) Most of the trees have been cut down – development purpose
Aim and Objective
i) To motivate people’s attitude in terms of handling
the rubbish
ii) To create awareness to the people in the
urban area
Motivation
As
we all know, water is one of the most virtue things for human to survive and
life. Without water, we cannot live in the peaceful environment. I want to make
more research on this topic as water pollution is one of the most problems in
the urban area or city. So, if we love our earth to be last long, we should
being serious on this issue.
Ideation and Concept
My
concept regarding this topic is more onto effects of water pollution to human.
I plan to make a sculpture to show the effects of chemical substances onto the
clean water. I want to show these effects on the water itself, so people will
realize what actually happened if the water pollution occur in the urban area.
